The medium should never stop studying
Nubor Orlando Facure writes about the theory of the heredity of mediumship and the phylogenetic development of beings.

In the materialistic view, the "mind" phenomenon would be an epiphenomenon of brain functioning - a kind of adverse reaction or side effect of that functioning. In fact, the spirit teachings inform us that the brain is not only a decal of the perispiritual brain, as it transcends it through the emancipation of the soul and the connection with the psychic phenomenon of the manifestation of the unconscious.

Kardec, in his comments and questions, manifests consistent opinions with evolutionary thinking, which is surprising because his early studies of Spiritism preceded the emergence of Darwin's work, as well as the studies of Gregor Mendel, the father of genetic theory.
"Spiritism understands that after death, spirits are placed on another plane of life, tasks that attract them both by interest and necessity, and millions of them remain by our side, keeping in tune with our thoughts, interfering in our lives, suggesting both good and bad behavior in our decisions. Inspiration, a variety of intuition, makes all mediums men. But it does not delimit very well what is part of the thinking of the communicating Spirit and what is inherent in the thought of the incarnate sensory. They are suggestions, as if leaving to the incarnate the responsibility for the realization of the idea or its non-adherence. It is the instrument usually used by the protectors.

The medium's interference with communication comes mainly from this non-passive attitude. The medium is never entirely passive, even in the case of psychics of unconscious incorporation.
"The intelligence and all mental capacity of an individual are properties of the Spirit, the brain being only an instrument that allows him to manifest himself in this world. The predisposition mentioned above is undoubtedly essential, since mediumship lies in the organism of the sensory. The epiphysis, or pineal gland, situated more or less in the center of the cranial cavity is of fundamental importance. In the perispiritual brain, this gland is structured according to the genetic map of the individual, so that the psychic faculty is always granted as a task or, if we wish, as a mission to be performed for a useful purpose.
In another sense, it is indispensable that the medium be receptive to the influence of the Spirit and combines certain conditions to become a good interpreter.
Cultural baggage is part of the conditions that enable the Spirit to express himself with greater quality. That is why the medium should never stop studying.
