The other's is better

Once upon a time there was a Vulture that was very sad. It used to be cheerful and relaxed, but it began to notice the Hawk and admire it. It then found itself very inferior.

One day they met and the Vulture said:

- You fly very well! You’re a great hunter! You must be very happy.

- Not so much - said the Hawk - Every day, I have to hunt, otherwise I will starve. Look at the Rooster, who lives below. No need to fly! It has a quiet life, is all colorful and well fed. It wakes up early, ready, and sings with joy! It´s it who is happy!

The Rooster, on the other hand, would occasionally see the Hawk, flying up there, and freaking out! It used to give the alert to the Chicken to protect its chicks. And it thought:

- How much concern! I wish I could distract me a bit like friend Duck. Like me, he does not fly either, but he does swim very well, by the way! Glides deliciously on the water. If I could swim like that, I would be happy too.

The Duck, out of the pond, looked at the Peacock, who lived on the same farm. It wanted to be like it. It thought that the Peacock was the most beautiful animal in the world and said:

- What colors! What a long tail! How imposing! No one should be happier than it.

However, the Peacock did not think so. Their feathers were torn from time to time to make ornaments. It felt exploited for being handsome. It walked slowly, heavily, dragging its long feathers. When it saw the Vulture, it said to itself:

- How free! Eat anything, fly so high! No one teases it, wanting to arrest it or wanting to wrest its feathers. I wanted to be happy like the Vulture!

It was a pity the birds did not realize their qualities. Each one was so wonderful and so special! They were different and that was the way it should be, because each one them had a role to play in Nature, according to the purposes of God. But they were all unhappy...

Then, one day, Divine Providence did "by coincidence" with the five of them meet there near the pond of the farm.

And after a good long talk, each of them discovered qualities they did not even know they had. They also understood that their friends, whom they so admired, also had their difficulties.

When the conversation was over, the situation was solved.

Nothing had changed in their lives except one thing - everyone realized how happy they were!
