Wounded pride

Rocket was an incredible car and it thought it was the greatest because it never missed a race. It used to call attention because of its beauty, shining car bodywork and its exaggerated vanity.

One day, a car appeared in the town just like it. Rocket was furious and challenged it to a race. Whoever loses, should leave the city. Zito, the stranger, was surprise by the aggressive reception, but decided to accept the challenge.

The race started on time scheduled and to the general surprise, the challenger had its first loss. Rocket, sad and humiliated, went away to never return.

Years later, Zito watching a race in a neighbor city and recognized Rocket. Rocket, who was embarrassed, apologized to Zito for the rude manner in which he received and challenged him at the time.

- That's over - Zito says.

Zito and Rocket fraternize, starting from there a great friendship.

This fable shows how vanity and pride can disturb relationships. Blindness brought by these feelings leads us to take disproportionate actions, which usually result in regret and frustration.
