A short visit to the
Purgatory Museum
In Rome, next to the
sacristy of the Church of
the Sacred Heart by Suffrage
of Souls, it is located the
so-called Purgatory Museum,
which was formerly called
the Christian Museum of the
Beyond and used to have the
first collection of evidence
of the presence of
disincarnated spirits at
work in the physical world,
gathered by the priest Vitor
Jouet, who disincarnated in
1902. This is the theme of
the especial called
“Purgatory Museum and the
Spirit Immortality” written
by the physician and writer
Americo Domingos Nunes Filho,
from Rio de Janeiro (RJ),
Brazil. The article is one
of the highlights of this
edition.
Martinho de Mendonça Filho,
who is our interviewee, was
born in Poços de Caldas
(MG), where he lives. From a
spirit family since his
paternal grandparents and
economist of profession, he
participates in the
activities of the Spirit
Group of Samaritans, in his
city, which he is
responsible for public
meetings on Sundays. In the
interview, which is one of
the highlights of this
issue, he establishes an
interesting correlation
between Spiritism and the
practices of early
Christianity.
It happened on October 27-28
in Porto, Portugal, the VI
Medicine and Spirituality
Seminar under the assistance
of the Spirit-Physician
Association from the North
of Portugal. Its main
content was the theme
“Thought, Conscience and
Spirituality”. The
traditional event took place
at the Vilar Diocesan House.
José Lucas, our
collaborator, tells us how
it was.
