Theme: Friendship
Real friends
Tati and Tuti were best friends. They had studied
together since childhood and were now fourteen years
old.
Tuti, in fact, was called Julia but
she really liked the name of Tatiana because she thought
it was cute to be called "Tati".
When she knew about it, Tati put the
nickname "Tuti" in Julia, taking advantage of some
letters of her name. Soon everyone began to call her
that and she loved it.
Tati was very different from Tuti.
The first one was more extroverted, creative, invented
jokes and stories that almost killed her friend with
laughing. She liked parties and go for walking. She was
fashionable and was always pretty. She liked to eat
sweets, sandwiches and pizzas, so she was overweight.
Tuti, on the other hand, was timider and spoke softly.
She had ballet lessons and enjoyed staying at home,
reading or watching movies. She was very thin; she ate
little even if the food was delicious.
Despite the differences, they also
had similarities. They were good students, responsible
and had good grades. And the main thing: they had a good
heart. Instead of competing, they always helped each
other.
Tati encouraged Tuti to sing and
dance like her. And Tuti would explain to Tati the math
exercises she did not know.
One day, on a very hot weekend, they
decided to go to the club pool. Arriving there, they saw
some school friends. Mauro was one of them who began to
make jokes for his friends to laugh:
- Help, if Tati leaps in the pool on
top of me, I'm going to die crushed! It´s going to spill
so much water out that I'm going to be washed away!
Hahaha...
The other boys also laughed and made
other vicious comments, amused by it.
The girls were very upset. They did
not expect that gratuitous aggression. They talked to
each other and thought it would be better to enter the
pool anyway, without giving them attention.
Fortunately, soon the boys stopped
bothering, for they noticed the looks of those around
them, reproving that disrespectful attitude.
Tati and Tuti, on the contrary, were
educated with the children who were around, played with
them and had fun.
After some time, Mauro, running
around the pool, to escape from some of his friends'
unfunny play, slipped and fell, taking a very ugly
tumble.
Some people near were worried and
approached to help him. His "friends", however, died of
laughing. They plunged back into the pool, while the
boy, still on the ground, was trying to recover.
Mauro, hurt, was in such pain that he
began to cry, which was why the boys mocked him even
more.
Tati and Tuti watched in horror.
Despite what he had done before, they felt sorry for
him. By the fall, by the bruises and moreover, by the
reaction of the other boys.
Mauro supported by people of good
will, managed to get up and was taken to the infirmary.
His "friends", however, who had no custom to help, stood
there just looking at. They ended up leaving too for not
feeling comfortable to continue the games they were
doing.
The two friends, after the pool, went
to have ice cream. They chatted, laughed, played
volleyball with other friends, strolled around the club.
By late afternoon, despite what had happened before they
had had a great day.
Making good friends may not be easy.
I do not know if Mauro had friends or just companies.
Tati and Tuti, however, made a good choice. Even with
differences, they liked each other, helped each other
and helped each other. They were real friends.
