Theme: Affection; it’s giving that receives
Affectionate flakes
There was a small village where money was not used.
Everything that people bought, everything that was
cultivated and produced by each one, was exchanged.
The most important thing was love.
Those who produced nothing, who did
not have things that could be exchanged for food or
utensils, gave their affection. The affection was
symbolized by a cotton flake.
It was common for people to exchange
little flakes without wanting anything back, many times.
People gave their affection, because they knew they
would receive it at another time or another day.
One day, a very bad woman, who lived
outside the village, convinced a small boy not to give
his little flakes anymore. According to this, he would
be the richest person in the city and have what he
wanted.
Deluded by the words of the wicked
woman, the boy, who was one of the most popular and
beloved people in the village, began to gather affection
and in a very short time his house was full of flakes,
becoming even difficult to move inside.
Then, when the city was practically
without flakes, people started to keep the little
affection they had, and all the harmony of the city
disappeared.
It appeared greed, suspicion, the
first theft, hatreds, disagreements arose and people
cursed themselves for the first time and ignored
themselves in the streets.
As he was the most beloved in the
city, the boy was the first to feel sad and alone, which
made him look for the old woman to ask her and tell her
if that was part of the wealth he would accumulate.
He did not find her anymore, so he
took a decision. He grabbed a big cart, put all his
flakes on top of it and walked around the city randomly
distributing his affection. To everyone who gave
affection, he just said: - Thank you for receiving my
affection.
So, without fear of ending up with
his flakes, he distributed them until the last affection
without receiving a single one back.
Without having time to feel alone and
sad again, someone walked up to him and gave him
affection. Another did the same... Another... and
another... until the village definitely returned to
normal.
