The best place

Valeria went to meet her friends in a square near her house. After playing many games, the girls sat down to rest and started talking.

- If you could choose a place to live, what would it be? - Asked Ana.

- I wish I lived in a beach town. I would be able to swim in the sea every day and be a surfer - Clara said cheerfully.

- I don't, it's very hot on the beach. I wanted to live on a farm, near a mountain. My parents could be the owners of the farm and I would help them to take care of the animals. I would ride horses everywhere and have a dog to accompany me wherever I went. If I had many siblings, besides Maia and Victoria, we could be one of those big families that all live on the farm and work together - said Roberta.

- Not me, Roberta, God forbid that! - Replied Maia, with other plans. - Farm is a lot of work. You can't wear high heels and there's no use wearing makeup, because you won't find almost anyone. I wanted to live in a big and chic city, like New York. Or better, Paris! I was going to attend fashion shows and wear designing clothes.

I would probably have only Victoria as my sister, since you don't like agitation. Or, I was going to be the only child of a very wealthy couple!

- I think I would want to be your sister, Maia! - Said Ana, smiling at her friend's words - And you, Valeria?

Valeria thought for a while, but couldn't decide:

- I don’t know! I love the beach, but I don't know if I liked to live there. Same thing with farm. Big city is cool, but it also has a lot of problems... I don't know!

The afternoon was already ending. The girls said goodbye and went home.

Upon entering the house, Valeria smelled the delicious bread that Grandma had just baked. Her mother opened her arms when she saw that she was coming, gave her a hug and a tender kiss.

In the spiritual world, Valeria's guardian angel smiled when saw the scene. He had followed the girls' conversation and remembered the whole process of choosing the present incarnation of Valeria.

She, of course, couldn't remember anything. But the evolved spirits who loved her very much planned the city where she would be born, who her relatives would be, what her body would be like, the type of work she would do and many other details of her incarnation. They thought about all that with great affection, because they wanted to provide her with the best opportunities then she could enjoy that reincarnation for her spiritual evolution.

Valéria did not notice the presence of her spiritual friend with the senses of her physical body. But she felt his vibrations of affection and, remembering the conversation with her friends, she was sure that, for her, this was the best place in the world.
