Jan Huss, precursor to the
Reformation, was the first
martyr of religious freedom
In the Especial Huss e
Kardec - two characters and
a brilliant Christian,
Jorge Hessen writes about
Jan Huss, one of the
precursors of the Protestant
Reformation, who years later
returned to this world with
the mission of codifying the
spiritist teachings. He was
born in Husinec in 1369, in
former Bohemia (now Czech
Republic), under the reign
of Emperor Charles IV and
the pontificate of Gregory
XI, he was a priest and also
rector of the University of
Prague, where he majored in
Theology. The article is one
of the highlights of this
edition.
Another highlight is the
interview that confrere
Nahur Fonseca, from São
Paulo (SP), now based in
Boston, Massachusetts (USA),
granted to our colleague
Orson Peter Carrara. PhD in
Computer Science from Boston
University and member of the
staff of the Spirit Society
Allan Kardec of
Massachusetts, he speaks to
us in the interview about
the Spirit Meeting of the
Family that is held annually
in the United States, of
which he is one of the
coordinators.
