Theme: Potential development
You can more
There was a very beautiful field where nature was full
of different forms of life.
For every living being, whether animal or vegetable, God
had given wonderful characteristics to them, with which
He expected them to collaborate in building a good and
happy world. However, in that field some things were not
going as they should.
There was a seed that had fallen on the fertile land. It
had the potential to become a great tree. But it was
very shy, preferred to remain hidden among fallen
leaves, without attracting attention.
The little foal was born healthy and with long legs. He
could run through the pasture, exercising its
musculature to become a big and strong animal. However,
fearful, he did not want to risk falling or getting
lost. Most of the time he stood still, waiting for time
to pass.
Something similar happened with the little ovenbird. He
had the instinct and the ability to build his home and
raise his family. But, without wanting to dedicate
himself to the efforts necessary to load the clay and
shape his home, he postponed the beginning of the work.
The seed, the horse and the bird believed that their
attitudes would bring them tranquility. The problem is
that, instead of feeling good about the option they
took, they felt bad.
The seed spent its days as if it were a small stone in
the soil, but it was not. The behavior of the little
foal was similar to that a sick animal. But he was
healthy. The bird did not take on the task that gave his
species the recognition of being one of nature's best
builders. It was as if he had been born without the
skill he owned.
Time passed, and they felt worse and worse. They even
began to doubt about their potential. Sometimes they saw
someone doing what they also could do, and they were
embarrassed, ashamed. They sought excuses to ease their
consciences, but they did not even convince themselves.
Sometimes, the wind blew making a small noise that they
heard as a message from nature, saying to them: "You can
do more!".
One day, a family went for a walk in that field. One
person in that family was a beautiful, energetic child.
Curious, he played and ran everywhere, wanting to make
the most of that opportunity.
The child, as soon as he saw the horse, ran out to
approach him. He was startled and, afraid of him, ran
away. The child happily continued to run, and soon it
was as if the two were playing tag. They ran and
stopped, tired. Then one of the them would run again and
the other followed. Forgotten his fears, the little
horse even jumped during the race, having fun like never
before. He wished he had stronger legs to be able to run
faster and acknowledged that he had never experienced
such good feeling. His fear of running was gone.
Later, the child went to a small tree and held on to one
of its branches, swinging his little body in the air.
The family sat in the shade of the tree, took a rest and
had a snack. The seed wished to be that tree in which
the child played. It imagined it could make a shadow
even bigger than that. It was so excited about this idea
that its desire to develop became greater than shyness.
Ovenbird, admiring that happy family, felt like having
his own family too and thought that all efforts would be
worth.
In a short time, things changed in that field.
The seed became a huge tree, capable of being seen from
distance. The birds came to eat their fruit and take
shelter on its branches. It still casted a large shadow
that relieved the heat of everyone around it. The seed,
now a tree, felt its self-esteem renewed.
The little horse started to exercise, running alone or
with other animals. He became a magnificent horse that
gave an example of strength and courage to anyone who
saw him. He started to feel very confident.
The ovenbird found motivation to start his work and,
following the tradition of his species, built an
admirable nest where he and his wife had their puppies.
Each day, when he returned home and found his family, he
felt fulfilled.
And that was how, fulfilling God's schedule and
developing his potential, everyone was very happy.
