Theme: Friendship
Two friends
The kingdom was celebrating. The royal couple's first
child, the long-awaited prince, was born.
His parents loved him very much and prepared everything
for his arrival, decorating the baby's room with the
best objects and fabrics. It was beautiful, all
decorated and cozy. They also called in the best nannies
in the kingdom to ensure that the prince was always
taken care of.
The boy's clothes were tailor made. He had the best
food, the cleanest rooms, and the most expensive toys.
Everything was the best of the best.
And so the boy grew up, in a perfect environment,
surrounded by care and whims. But despite all that,
after a while something didn't seem right.
The prince sometimes looked sad, sometimes angry. He
didn't have fun anymore, not even with his best toys.
The king and queen, then, wishing to please their son,
took him on a long journey and they visited enchanting
places. The prince liked the newness, but when they
returned home, the problems returned.
The parents, still intent on pleasing their son, bought
him many gifts. The prince liked them, but soon left
them aside.
Something was missing, but no one knew what.
One day, the prince, fleeing because he did not want to
bathe, ran into the palace kitchen. He never went there,
so he thought it would be a good place to hide.
The kitchen servants, very busy, didn't even notice the
prince's presence. But he noticed that there was another
boy, sitting under a table, playing with a top. He was
the son of one of the cooks.
The prince sat down next to the boy, who, happy to see
him, invited:
- Shall we play?
The two left for the patio and there they ran, jumped,
invented games, talked and had fun together.
The boys, still small children, did not realize the
enormous social distance that existed between them. They
played as equals and became friends that day.
When the palace servants finally found the prince, they
didn't have the heart to interrupt the game, as the boys
were laughing together.
The children's mothers were informed of what was
happening and the cook, embarrassed, asked the queen's
forgiveness for having taken her son to the palace,
explaining that she had no one to leave him with.
- Don't worry - said the queen. – It's been a long time
since I've seen my son so happy. You can bring him every
day!
And so it happened. The boys started to meet constantly.
And they grew together. When they got a little older,
they began to notice the differences that existed
between their families, but they still remained friends.
When they were young, they rode horses together, talked
about happy things and each other's concerns.
The prince, despite having no problems with material
things, had concerns about his responsibilities in the
kingdom and what people expected of him. His friend
listened to him and advised him. They knew each other
well and cared for each other very well, so they helped
each other.
One day, the king became old and tired and the prince
was named the new king. At that time, his best friend
was head of the palace guard and became his advisor.
The new king was an important person, but he knew his
friend was important to him too. He was the one who knew
him, who he trusted, who protected him and cared for
him.
And that's how the prince and the cook's son learned
from life that wealth and social position are no more
important than true friendship between two people.
