Journalist Aurélio Prado's
experience with the social
project "Maria Bordadeiras"
He was born in Ceres in
Goiás and currently lives in
the capital of the Republic,
journalist Aurélio Prado, a
spiritist for 24 years, is
one of those people who work
in numerous and different
areas of the spiritist
movement. Member of the
Educational and Assistance
Group Espírita Fraternidade
(GEAEF), located at block
910 of Asa Sul, in Brasília
(DF), where he collaborates
as an evangelist, he has
already coordinated the
Social Communication
Department of the
institution and also the
journalism team of the
Spiritist Federation of
Federal District. And it was
also his idea that gave rise
to the social project “Maria
Bordadeiras”, which is one
of the subjects of the
interview that he kindly
granted us and is one of the
highlights of this edition.
Another highlight is the
Special “Peace be with
you”, in which our
collaborator Anselmo
Ferreira Vasconcelos, from
São Paulo (SP), discusses
the theme of peace and what
is necessary for us to
achieve it. At the end of
the article, he refers to
the encounter of Jesus with
his apostles, after the
episode of the crucifixion,
and proposes: “If Christian
ideas have already
penetrated our soul, let us
work to preserve our inner
peace by acting and doing
good today and always".
There is no better way to
obtain happiness”, says the
writer.
Exactly 133 years ago – from
8 to 13 September 1888 – the
First International
Spiritist Congress took
place in Barcelona, Spain,
an event organized by the
Spiritist Federation of
Vallés and by the Center for
Psychological Studies of
Barcelona, being its "Alma
Mater" the Viscount of
Torres Solanot, a great
figure of Hispanic Spiritism
who united in a happy
communion a first-rate
intellectuality and great
gifts as an organizer. A
special article published in
this issue brings us the
details of this pioneering
and important event.
