Moses and the
four arms of Eden
"A river came out of Eden to
water the garden, and then
divided into four branches."
Thus Moses refers, in
chapter 2 of the book of Genesis,
to the four great
civilizations that arose in
the beginnings of the Earth:
the Egyptian, Indian,
Indo-European and Chinese
civilizations, as our
collaborator Rogério Coelho
reminds us in the Special
entitled "The four arms of
Eden”, one of the highlights
of this edition.
Another highlight is the
interview given to us by
Marcelo de Oliveira Orsini,
from Belo Horizonte (MG).
Author of the books Visiting
Homes and Hospitals, Christ
in Me, It's Time for
Worship!, Around the
microphone - reflections for
the spiritist tribune and
Ênio Wendling - along the
mediumistic path, he
talks to us about life in
the interview, among other
things and the work of the
late medium Ênio Wendling.
On a day like today (October
17) Francisco Raimundo
Ewerton Quadros was born in
1841, in the capital of
Maranhão. A military
engineer, he made a career
in the Brazilian Army, in
which he reached, upon
retirement, the rank of
Marshal. In spiritist
activities, he was one of
the founders and first
president of the Brazilian
Spiritist Federation, as
Thiago Bernardes shows in a
special article published in
this issue.
