Theme: Respect, friendship
The sneakers’ race
The
big day had finally arrived. All the animals in the
woods got up early because it was the day of the big
sneakers’ race!
By nine they were all gathered by the
lake.
There was also the giraffe, the
tallest and most beautiful in the forest. But she was so
vain, she didn't want to be friends with other animals.
The giraffe began to mock his
friends:
- Ha, ha, ha, ha - laugh at the
turtle that was so small and so slow.
- Ho, ho, ho, ho - laugh at the rhino
that was so fat.
- He, he, he, he - laughed at the
elephant for its big trunk.
Then it was time to start.
The fox wore sneakers with yellow and
red stripes. The zebra, pink sneakers with a big bow.
The monkey had green sneakers with orange spots. The
turtle wore sneakers as white as the clouds.
But just as they were about to start
the race, the giraffe began to cry desperately. She was
so tall she couldn't tie her shoelaces!
- Ahhh, ahhh, someone help me! -
shouted the giraffe.
And all the animals were looking at
her. So, the fox went to talk to her and said:
- You were laughing at the other
animals because they were different. We are all
different, of course, but we all have something good,
and we can all be friends and help each other out when
the need arises.
Then the giraffe apologized to
everyone for having laughed at them. And then came the
ants, who quickly tied the shoelace so she could run.
Finally, everyone was on the starting
line. On their marks... Ready... Go!
When the race was over, everyone
celebrated because they had gained a new friend who,
moreover, had learned what friendship meant.
Either way, if you want to have lots
of friends, accept them for who they are.
