Experience
tells us that it is possible
to prevent suicide
The thesis expressed in the
sentence above is by our
interviewee Ivete Marques de
Oliveira, a clinical
psychologist with a
postgraduate degree in
Transpersonal Psychology and
in cognitive-behavioral
therapy. President of AVIVA
– Associação para
Valorização da Vida,
maintainer of the CVV
program for emotional
reception and suicide
prevention, she is a speaker
and member of the Spiritist
Association Semeador, from
Catanduva (SP). The
interview is one of the
highlights of this issue.
Another highlight is the
Special entitled The
excesses of human “justice”,
by our collaborator Anselmo
Ferreira Vasconcelos, from
São Paulo (SP). In the
opening of the article, as
an introduction to his
considerations, he evokes
the spiritist concept of
justice, as stated in
question No. 875 of book The
Spirits’ Book: "Justice
consists in respect for the
rights of others." precept
that should also guide the
application of human
justice.
A little over 141 years ago,
precisely on September 6,
1881, the 1st Spiritist
Congress of Brazil was held
in the city of Rio de
Janeiro, an initiative of
the God, Christ and Charity
Academic Society, which
became the first step in for
the unification of the
Brazilian spiritist
movement, as shown in a
special article by our
collaborator Eder Andrade.
