Theme: Making the most of your time
The two notebooks
Once upon a time there were two brothers. One day, their
mother presented them with beautiful notebooks, one for
each. The paper was of excellent quality and the boys
were very happy since they enjoyed drawing. But each
brother took care of his notebook in different ways.
|
The oldest used only one side of the pages. When
he saw that his drawing did not come out as he
thought, he |
ripped the sheet and throw it in the trash.
He
also crumpled the paper sheet and made little
paper balls out of them. |
The youngest, on the other hand, made
the most of every sheet, as he knew it should not to
waste the paper. When he made a line that he didn't
like, he quickly erased it so that the page wouldn't be
marked.
After a few weeks, the boys knew they
had an important test in a few days. Worried, they began
to study. The mother suggested that they use the
notebooks to make notes, diagrams and drawings.
One of them was very well taken care
of it, but the other had almost no blank pages left.
After the test, the mother noticed
that the eldest son was very down. He couldn't properly
study or have good results on the test. As there were
few pages left in his notebook, he had to summarize the
entire material.
On the other hand, the younger
brother took advantage of pages for notes and even
drawings that would help him remember the study at the
time of the test.
Just like notebooks, God gave us
time. Each one of us must choose how we want to spend
time and be aware that time we don't take advantage of
it, it will be missed tomorrow.
