Theme: Discipline with words

The words have power

Since she was a little girl, Camila liked to talk a lot and with everyone. She was outgoing and people were amused by her
funny stories.

The problem is what Camila had to say wasn't always funny or appropriate for the moment. Sometimes, she wasn't even sure it was true, but she was so used to talking about everything that by the time she realized it, she had already said it.

That had become a problem, many times. When Camila was angry, she spoke aggressive words out loud and complained so much that her sister also got angry and the two ended up fighting.

Other times, when Camilla was feeling down, she would forget about the good things and only talked about the sad things. This made her more and more depressed and took much longer to cheer her up.

Her mother always talked to her and told her to be careful with her words, as they conveyed not only information but also emotions. Therefore, they could do good or bad.

Camila kept promising her mother that she would be more careful with what she said, but she also kept forgetting to check herself.

One day, Camila came back from school talking as usual, but very shaken. She said that Aline, her best friend, had gone to school with her hand bandaged and a sling around her neck to rest her arm.

Aline also had the same habit of talking a lot and told Camila that she had fallen with a glass in her hand. She narrated in detail everything about the injuries, the stitches the doctor had to give her and the pain she went through. Camila felt sorry for her friend and also very impressed, imagining the scene.

She still looked pretty scared when she told her family about the sad event. Afterwards, Camila still spent the rest of the day scared, afraid of falling or seriously hurting herself one day.

In the middle of the night, Camila's mother heard a scream and, when she came running to her daughter's room, she found the girl crying.

- Mom, I had a horrible nightmare! I dreamed that I had an accident.

Her mother stayed with her until Camila calmed down and went back to sleep. And the next day, she had a conversation with the girl.

Camila had already realized how impressed she was with the comments about Aline's accident and finally realized how much we are influenced by words.

No wonder people often say that words have power.

Camila's nightmare was scary, but with it she realized that her mother was right and that she should pay more attention to the things she said and how she said them.

Over time, Camila learned to distribute words of joy, kindness, optimism and affection to herself and the people around her. She also learned to speak only when it is necessary, when she was sad, afraid, or angry, in a way that didn't increase her feelings or convey them to others.

It took a while for Camila to get to choose her words better. But she made it! And everyone was much happier!
