The healthcare professional
should be a mentor, a
caregiver, not a cane
The sentence above is by
Luís Gustavo Langoni
Mariotti, from Botucatu
(SP). A geriatrician, who
also works in the area of
palliative medicine, he is
part of the Medical-Spiritist
Association of Botucatu and
the Spiritist Center Path
Light, in his city, and is
also coordinator of the
Palliative Care Department
at AME-Brazil. In the
interview he tells us about
geriatrics and palliative
care and its connection with
the teachings drawn from the
spiritist doctrine. The
article is one of the
highlights of this edition.
Another highlight is the
Especial written by
Wellington Balbo, one of the
columnists of our magazine.
Entitled "Sensation and
perception of mediums", the
article presents the
observations collected by
the author in a survey that
included the participation
of 66 mediums. Its purpose
is to know their sensations
and perceptions in contact
with the spirits that
manifest through them.
On a day like today, August
8, the Our Home Charity
Institution, also known as
IBNL, was founded. It was
1946 when a group of people,
under the leadership of
Maria Augusta Ferreira
Puhlmann and Nair Ambra
Ferreira, decided to create
an association for the care
and defense of orphaned or
abandoned children. Ana
Moraes tells us how it all
happened in a special
article.
