How it is
like to run a spiritist
house located in Canada
Professor Aline Contente
Abrante, our interviewee
this Sunday, tells us about
it. She was born in Rio de
Janeiro (RJ), she resides in
the city of Coquitlam, in
the province of British
Columbia, on the west coast
of Canada. Graduated in
Social Communication and
post-graduated in English,
she works professionally as
a teacher and, in spiritist
affairs, presides over the
Meimei Coquitlam Society, of
which she is its founder.
The interview is one of the
highlights of this issue.
Another highlight is the
conclusion of the Special
“Spiritual colonies would be
circumscribed places, how
so?”, by Paulo Neto, whose
first part was published
last week. As mentioned in
the previous edition, the
existence or not of
spiritual cities is a matter
that, despite the fact that
so many works signed by
serious authors have dealt
with the theme, continues to
raise discussions, often
fierce, among the Spiritists
themselves.
On Thursday, July 21st,
another anniversary of the
disincarnation, at the age
of 69, of Professor Porto
Carreiro Neto, one of the
great figures of Spiritism
in Brazil, especially for
his contribution to the
teaching and dissemination
of Spiritism and Esperanto.
He was born in Recife (PE),
Luís da Costa Porto Carreiro
Neto was born on January 7,
1895, the son of professor
Carlos Porto Carreiro, a
great philosopher, linguist
and poet.
