Homosexuality Part 1

 

We read in the main Spiritist book:
 

200. Do the Spirits have both genders?

"Not as you understand it, for genders depend on organization. There is love and sympathy between them, but they are based on affinity, similar feelings".

201. In our lives can the Spirit, who lived in a body of a man, live in a body of a woman and vice versa?

"Certainly! The Spirits that animate men and women are the same".

202. When wandering, what does the Spirit prefer: to incarnate in the body of a man, or of a woman?

"This is not important for the Spirit. What guides it in its choice is the trial it has to go through".
 

Spirits incarnate as men or as women because they are not differentiated by gender. Since they have to progress in everything, each gender, as each social position, provides them with special trials and duties, and with that, the opportunity to gain experience. He, who only would incarnate as a man, would know only what men know. 

Since homosexuality is not well understood by the Spiritist confreres themselves, we quote - from the book of Walter Barcelos, "Sex and Evolution", in chapter 9, called "Homosexuality and Reincarnation" - the following words:

- Homosexuality is the sexual attraction between people of the same sex. The homosexual is someone who has a sexual identity in shock with his or her anatomy.

Homosexuality is an anomaly of the personality, which can be seen not only in this century, but at all times of Humanity.

The Apostle Paul made reference to the abuses of homosexuality in Rome in his Epistle to the Romans. The difference between the distant past and today is that - thanks to a global media, the advances of Science, and the numerical growth of the phenomenon - this subject is in more evidence all over the world.

Psychological Science and its research 

Psychological sciences have conducted detailed and in-depth research on the personality with inverse sexual manifestation. They analyzed their childhood, education, tendencies, skills, behavior, environment, and the influence of their parents, with a view to reaching the causes of homosexuality in order to reeducate it. Since their concepts are solely materialistic, they consider that what causes the problem is found in the present, basing it on the erroneous education given by the parents, the negative institution of the schools, an environment with no morality, and also, in some cases, the genetics imbalance, believing that the homosexuals are born with one additional chromosome. Despite all these efforts, they have failed to reach the real causes, and only managed to reach the immediate triggers.

Homosexual tendencies and reincarnation

The deep causes of homosexuality have no origin in the present, but in past lives, and only the Law of Reincarnation can explain them. Homosexuality is not created in this present life, but its manifestation and imbalance are stimulated, because these characteristics of homosexuality are already born with the Spirit, and acquired through sexual experiences within several millennia reincarnations. The Spirit Emmanuel tells us about psychological research and reincarnation:

"Homosexuality, is presently also called transsexuality in some circles of Science, and it defines itself in its entirety by the tendency of the creature to affective communion with another creature of the same sex, finding no fundamental explanation in psychological studies dealing with this subject on a materialistic basis, but it is, however, perfectly understandable in the light of reincarnation". (17.21)

We know that the Spirit can reincarnate both in man's body and in woman's body; what matters to the Spirit is the acquisition of experience, the redemption of debts and its improvement.

Let us see what the Spirits of Codification tell us in Question 201:

"In a new life, can the Spirit, who animated the body of a man, animate that of a woman and vice versa?

"Certainly, they are the same Spirits that give life to men and women”. Reincarnation is the only explanation for the phenomenon of the inversion of sexuality of the human creature, within logic, common sense and justice.

The Spirit already existed before this present life. When it reincarnates, it brings with it, in its sub consciousness, an immense store of sexual experiences, moral values, tendencies, qualities and defects acquired in previous multiple lives. 

The sexual personality is registered in the mind

Sex, before it manifests itself physically, it is already stored in the Spirit.

The main headquarters of sex is in the mind, i.e., in the Spirit, as stated by Andre Luiz:

"...sex resides in the mind, to express itself in the Spiritual body, and consequently in the physical body, as the creative sanctuary of our love before life..." (23.18-1 P)

Andre Luiz goes on:

"Sex is not located in the coarse body, but in the soul, in its sublime organization". (26.11)

The Spirit is feminine or masculine, due to the innumerable experiences repeated through centuries, practicing the same functions, reincarnating in the same type of physical body. Its mind will be greatly enriched with specific qualities, determining its individuality. This is what the author of "Action and Reaction" explains:

"(...) Sex, in essence, is the sum of the passive or positive qualities of the mental field of being. It is natural that the markedly feminine Spirit dwells centuries and centuries on the evolutionary lines of woman and that the markedly masculine Spirit dwells for a long time on the experiences of man”. (18.15)

Being clarified that sex is mental, it is psychological, let us now see the explanation of the Spirits in three situations in which they bring forth homosexuality.

The three situations in which homosexuality occurs

FIRST CASE – A Spirit with a remarkably feminine mind reincarnates in process of atonement, in a male body.

The masculine body will counteract and create many difficulties for the manifestation of the impulses and tendencies of the feminine mind. The reincarnated Spirit, not accepting its new position, will do everything possible to mold the male body in order to meet its feminine sensibility. The inversion is not of the mind, but of the transient physical body.

Let us now see what causes the female Spirit to reincarnate, as an expiatory process, in the body of a man. Andre Luiz continues to enlighten us:

"(...) a sinful woman who, after dragging a man to dissoluteness and crime, creates for herself a terrible mental alienation beyond the grave, and most of the times ends up by being hospitalized in the male body, so that in the webs of the misfortune of his emotions, he learns to respect himself and others before the Lord”. (18.15)

The Spirit with a feminine mind, living in a masculine body by means of reincarnation, will go on expressing its personality, character, tendencies, aptitudes and feminine sensibility. The feminine mind is not chained to the will of the masculine body; on the contrary, the masculine body obeys the absolute orders of the feminine mind. The feminine Spirit, temporarily wearing a masculine body, will present its affection and sympathy, not exactly for a woman, but for another man, because, in its essence it is a woman. You feel sexual attraction for the same sex as a body, but not as a psychological structure - for these are really different. Chico Xavier’s Spiritual Guide states: 

"(...) the individual in transit, going from the female experience to the male experience or vice versa, when wearing the respective physical wrap, will fatally demonstrate the signs of a femininity in which it lived for many centuries, although the masculine body differentiates this individual. The same procedure occurs to a woman in the same circumstances". (17.21)

SECOND CASE – A Spirit with a marked masculine mind in process of atonement, reincarnates in a female body.

If it is the mind that commands the body, it is logical that the Spirit will manifest through the female body, with all its masculine characteristics, even though the body is different from its mental impulses. Psychological masculinity will shape the female body for the behavior of a man, as far as possible. Let us see the causes why the male Spirit reincarnates in a morphologically feminine body, within the statutes of Divine Justice. The physician of the Spiritual world clarifies us:

"(...) On many occasions, when a man threatens a woman, not respecting her rights and committing abuses, in the name of his alleged superiority, he harms himself to such an extent that, unconscious and unbalanced, he is led by Agents of the Divine Law to a painful rebirth in a female body so that, in an extreme intimate discomfort, he learns to respect his sister and companion, daughter and mother, before God. (18.15) 

THIRD CASE - Cultured and sensitive Spirits with a markedly feminine or markedly masculine mind reincarnate in bodies different from their psychological structure to perform special tasks in the fields of the intellect, moral and Spiritual development of Humanity.

The Spirit Andre Luiz continues explaining: 

"(...) the great hearts and the charming characters that, in many circumstances, reincarnate in bodies that do not correspond to their most hidden feelings - something that they themselves requested - in order to work with more reliability and merit, not only for their moral improvement, but also for the accomplishment of special tasks – by means of dangerous stages of isolation – to help the Earth’s social field that makes use of this potential abnegation to hasten its understanding of life and of Spiritual improvement”.
