Anne Louise was
ten years old.
She was
reluctant to
accept changes;
to learn
anything new.
She only enjoyed
things she
already learned
in the current
existence. This
behaviour was
not suitable for
a girl her age,
but for elderly
people.
Her grandma was
called Laura.
She was 70 years
old and used to
observe her
granddaughter.
She would then
say:
— Anne Louise,
you seem to be
much older than
me! It is a
great
opportunity to
live and learn
new things
everyday!
Therefore, the
child did not
agree with her.
— No, I don’t
like it,
grandma. My body
is changing and
I don’t want it
to change. I
like it the way
it is. I don’t
want my face to
be covered with
spots and look
horrible.
— Ah! But you
will always be
beautiful, my
dear, with or
without spots.
You must learn
each period in
your life is
unique and has
its charming.
Laura realised
her
granddaughter
was going
through puberty
crisis, and
wanted to help
her. One day her
grandma asked
Anne Louise to
go out with her.
It was the end
of the winter,
and the wind was
blowing
strongly. Her
granny took the
child by the
hand, and both
started to walk
through the
park.
The lady
breathed deeply,
filling he lungs
with fresh air.
She felt happy
to see spring
was coming. The
girl was feeling
irritated and
said:
 |
— I don’t know
why you are so
happy to see
this. The trees
are looking
ugly. Everything
is dirty. There
are not even
flowers around!
The lady smiled,
looked at the
sky and said:
— Hun, can’t you
see beauty in
all this? Each
time of the year
represents a
period
|
in which
nature
gets
ready
for the
next
phase.
Look!
Winter
is
saying
good-bye
and the
plants
are
starting
to get
ready
for
spring.
|
She then took
Anne Louise
closer to a bush
and said:
— Have a look!
Can you see
little sprouts
in the bench of
the trees? What
about the dry
grass which is
now full of tiny
green spots!
Flowers will
soon flourish.
This is not all,
Anne Louise! The
animals will
also get a new
outfit: birds
will get new
feathering;
animals will get
new fur.
Everything
renews. Our body
even changes in
certain
periods
of our
existence.
It
|
 |
gets
ready
for new
challenges;
new
responsibilities. |
The grandmother
stopped talking,
looked at her
granddaughter
and said:
— My case is
different from
yours. I am in
the winter of my
physical
existence,
getting ready to
change the green
leafs for a new
and beautiful
outfit.
Everything
follows its
path.
The child looked
at her grandma.
Her eyes were
humid. She knew
what her grandma
was talking
about. She meant
the change that
happens with the
physical death
of the body and
the return to a
new existence.
— Is that clear?
Changes are
useful and good.
They were
allowed by Good,
Anne Louise.
They are always
for good, even
though we judge
it the opposite.
The changes that
are happening in
your body are
also for your
good. They will
allow you to
grow and mature
in order to
become a woman
who, one day,
can get married
and have
children.
 |
Anne Louise
smiled at her
grandma and
hugged her with
care.
— I got it,
grandma. It is
so hard,
though!...
— I know my
dear. Therefore,
this is just a
period of time
and everything
will be fine.
Just as Spring,
your life will
be full of
flowers, beauty
and happiness.
— Thank you,
grandma. I love
you so
|
much. I
don’t
want God
to take
you away
from
me. |
— Don’t worry.
Our Father knows
what needs to be
done. Maybe one
day I will
return as your
daughter?!...
The child’s eyes
got bright. They
walked through
the park and
returned back to
their house.
Anne Louise now
looked up
whenever she
could. She never
again saw the
naked trees, but
the little
sprouts that
were coming into
the branches,
letting her know
the new season
which was about
to come.
