O Consolador:
How did you
become
interested
in the work
of Yvonne do
Amaral
Pereira? |
I have become
interested in
her life; as she
has been present
my life as well.
I feel her close
to me since
1999. I can feel
I have been
connected
strongly to this
spirit for quite
some time.
O Consolador:
How do you see
Yvonne’s
contribution for
Spiritism?
Yvonne Pereira
is the example
of the true
spiritist and
reliable medium.
Perfection is
not something we
can dream of in
our world.
Therefore, some
individuals
could be used as
a reference
guide for us to
follow, due to
their behaviour,
posture, honesty
and dedication
to the practice
of goodness.
O Consolador:
You have done
massive
bibliographical
and literary
research on her
work. Is there
something that
has captured
your attention?
I would
highlight her
loyalty to the
Spiritist
doctrine, to
Jesus’ Gospel
and her
determination to
overcome her bad
inclinations.
She simple work
as hard as she
could through
her mediumship.
She is an
example of a
medium that is
humble and works
for the greater
cause. She was
also able to
transmit copying
the likes of
Bezerra de
Menezes, Léon
Tolstoi and
Camilo Castelo.
Even though she
had a conscious
type of
mediumship, she
was able to
educate herself
to an extent the
spirits were
able to transmit
their message
with an in-depth
level of
detail.
O Consolador:
Her in-depth
commitment to
the Spiritist
Doctrine has
given us the
opportunity to
have important
books which were
written through
her. Would you
agree?
I believe she
extensively
contributed to
update and
consolidate
Allan Kardec’s
ideas. The books Devassando
o Invisível (Translation:
Penetrating the
Invisible) and Recordações
da Mediunidade (Translation:
Memories of
mediumship) are
talking about
mediumship and
life after life. Dramas
da Obsessão (Translation:
Dramas of
Obsession) is
imperative for
those who deal
with
disobsession.
The books Nas
Voragens do
Pecado (Translation:
On the vortex of
the sin),
Amor e Ódio (Translation:
Love and Hate)
and À
Luz do
Consolador (Translation:
On the light of
the Consoler)
are also very
precious; hence,
each work has
its own degree
of importance.
O Consolador:
What would you
say to her if
you had the
chance to meet
her spirit?
I would ask how
the spiritist
and the
spiritist
movement are
going. I would
love to hear her
opinion on it.
O Consolador:
What would you
highlight in
terms of her
mediumship
capabilities?
I would
highlight her
ability to cure
and give
prescriptions,
which is quite
rare in mediums.
Yvonne used to
tell how Dr.
Bezerra de
Menezes* and
Eurípedes
Barsanulfo**
would dictate
the prescription
to her;
Eurípedes could
even cure
paralytics who
were victim of
obsession. She
was even able to
perform astral
projection,
which was the
way she could
then get in tune
with the spirits
that would write
through her. She
also worked with
psychophony (a
spirit talks
using the voice
of a medium)
assisting
suicidal
spirits.
O Consolador:
Which of her
books would you
recommend for
our reader?
I would
recommend À
Luz do
Consolador (Translation:
On the light of
the Consoler)
and Cânticos
do Coração (Translation:
Songs of the
Heart); vols. I
and II for the
basic spiritist
concepts. The
book Pelos
caminhos da
mediunidade
serena would
be ideal for the
reader who wants
to get to know
mediumship.
Tolstoy’s books,
plus the
romances, would
be ideal for the
ones who enjoy a
good reading.
O Consolador:
What would you
share from your
experience
writing books
about Yvonne?
I once thought I
finished writing
the book Yvonne
Pereira: uma
heroína
silenciosa (Translation:
Yvonne Pereira:
a silent hero). Therefore,
in the middle of
the night I felt
a spiritual
presence close
to me saying it
was not ready
yet. I needed to
get up and see
what was wrong
in the book. I
then stoop up,
took two books
and opened them
randomly. I was
then able to see
important
details which
were lacking on
my book. In
order to
accomplish this
task, I was able
to meet some of
her incarnate
friends such as
Hermínio Miranda
and Jorge
Rizzini. I also
had contact with
her family
members;
especially Mauro
and Elisabeth
Operti.
O Consolador:
How do you feel
Yvonne today, as
a disincarnate
spirit?
I know Yvonne is
still linked to
the Hospital
Maria de Nazaré,
which is
described in the
book Memórias
de um Suicida (translation:
Memories of a
Suicidal). She
is still working
with
disincarnate
suicidal. She
also has been
working with a
few mediumship
groups, but very
few. We know she
is still working
together with
Dr. Bezerra de
Menezes.
O Consolador:
Have you got any
recent news from
Yvonne in the
spiritual world?
She is still
very active in
the spiritual
world. She works
coordinating
help and working
with spiritual
assistance to
the ones who
consider
suicide.
O Consolador:
Can you please
give us your
final words?
Spiritism needs
courageous
mediums such as
Yvonne do Amaral
Pereira, who is
not afraid of
testifying their
sincerity and
commitment to a
good cause.
Let’s focus on
studying and
work; these are
indispensable
for the practice
of the Spiritist
Doctrine. Let’s
leave our own
personal
opinions to one
side and join
forces to work
together for a
greater cause!
