Accounted for 30% of all
cases of cancer and for
another 25 different
diseases, tobacco has never
faced such a big campaign,
in which doctors,
psychologists and other
health professionals are
allied to the government in
order to combat smoking
addiction. This is the
subject of this week’s
editorial entitled
Smoking is not an option,
but an addiction.
One of the highlights of the
week is the interview
conceded by our confrere
Arnaldo Costeira, president
of the Portuguese Spiritist
Federation (FEP) to our
colleague Orson Peter
Carrara. Arnaldo is also the
president of the Associação
Social Cultural

(Social Cultural
Spiritualist Association of
Viseu) and the director of
The Spiritist Newspaper (Jornal
Espírita), which is edited
by FEP.
In this interview he talks
about his initiation into
Spiritism and speaks about
the Spiritist movement in
Portugal.
Another highlight of the
week is the special from
Washington Luiz N. Fernandes,
from Sao Paulo (SP), which
focus another aspect
of the psychographic work of
Divaldo Franco. The article
has been split in two parts.
The final part will be
published next week.
Last Sunday, 20th June, it
was held in Nieuw-Vennep,
Netherlands, the II Dutch
Fraternal Meeting , as shown
in the special report by
Claudia Werdine, which is
also one of the highlights
