The effect of prayer in
respect to health
This week’s editorial,
Prayer is power,
comments on the rapid
progress of the treatment
that Raul Teixeira is being
subjected to in the United
States and the effect of
prayer in this process.
In an interview given to our
collaborator Guaraci de Lima
Silveira, Jáder Sampaio a
well-known Spiritist writer
and promoter, based in Belo
Horizonte-MG, analyzes the
current state of the
spiritist movement in
Brazil.
The interview is one of the
highlights of this edition.
Another highlight of the
week is the special article
by Anselmo Ferreira
Vasconcelos, from São
Paulo-SP, about insight and
its importance in the lives
of all who aspire to live in
this troubled world, on the
basis of spiritual values.
Founded in May 2006, the
Spiritist Center Anita
Borela de Oliveira, in
Londrina-PR, has been doing
important work, as shown in
the story by Marcel Bataglia
which is also one of the
highlights of this edition.

250 years ago, on a day like
today - December 11 - was
born in Salvador-BA Joana
Angélica de Jesus
(1761-1822), selfless and
courageous nun who devoted
her life to God and the
greater glory of the convent
she ran, at which door she
passed away heroically,
killed by enemy bayonets.
Brazilians revere her as a
martyr, and the spiritists
know her as Joanna de
Ângelis, the spiritual guide
of Divaldo Franco.
