A chat with
Vânia Zechner, from
GEEAK-Austria
"Racism and football"
is the title and the theme
of this week's editorial,
which analyzes the
unfortunate episode that
occurred in a football match
in Porto Alegre-RS, in which
a group of fans behaved
pejoratively, in racist
manner, against the
goalkeeper of the Santos FC
team.
Among the highlights of this
edition, we call the reader's
attention to the interview
by Paula Kloser with the
spiritist leader Vânia
Cristina Gomes Zechner, who
tells how GEEAK-Austria
emerged and explains how the
Spiritist movement in
Austria is developing, a
country where she resides
for over twenty years.
Another highlight of this
edition is the special
article "The end of
childhood? When being a
child is a nuisance ...
", authored by Eugênia
Pickina. The objective of
the article is, according to
the author, to promote
reflection on childhood and
the indiscriminate use of
methylphenidate (commercially
known as Ritalin) by
children.
Orson Peter Carrara, in a
report that is also one of
the highlights of the week,
shows us the work done by
the Brazilian Institute of
Moral Education (IBEM),
which has developed several
actions aimed at awakening
and raising awareness among
teachers so that the school
can also work pedagogically
in the moral development of
children and youth.
