Costra Prochnow

2010, becoming
fully involved
in the Spiritist
Movement in his
hometown, Rio
Claro. He works
as an estate
agent and has a
degree in
Business
Administration
and an MBA in
Management. In
this interview
he talks about
the preparations
for the next
regional meeting
that the

city of Rio
Claro is
preparing to
host in May. |
How did the idea
of this meeting
in Rio Claro
come up?
We took part in
meetings in the
area and began
discussing the
possibility of
having an annual
event here. We
eventually
decided to get
all the
Spiritist
Centres of Rio
Claro together
in a joint
effort aimed
solely at
helping the
dissemination of
the Teachings of
Jesus through
Spiritism. The
event will be
held on May 17th
2015, a Sunday,
and the main
theme will be
“Jesus: The Joy
of Living”. The
event has been
named SEMEAR
(Portuguese for
sowing).
What has been
the impact of
the announcement
that Rio Claro
would be hosting
such an event in
2015?
The impact has
been very
positive. We
have received
the support of
the regional
Spiritist
organisation and
of nine
Spiritist
Centres in the
area. Our main
goal is to
disseminate the
Gospel of Jesus.
That is why we
have decided to
host the event
in a neutral
location, not in
a Spiritist
Centre. The aim
is to encourage
the
participation
not only of
Spiritists, but
also of those
who are open to
issues
concerning
Spirituality. We
also expect that
this event
together will
help consolidate
the friendship
and cooperation
among the
members of the
Spiritist Groups
taking part.
Have you decided
what the
programme of
events will be?
Yes. There will
be three talks –
two before lunch
and one in the
afternoon. Those
who enrol will
have breakfast
and lunch at the
venue. We will
also be selling
books and many
Spiritist
authors will be
signing their
books. There
will be
activities for
the children of
those taking
part too. To
