How good it is to be spirit!

It has been a tonic in several interviews published in this journal phrases like the one that gives title to this text. The above sentence integrates one of the highlights of this edition, ie the interview we were kindly granted by the fellow Nélio Vicente Costa, of Caruaru (PE).

A young fledgling in studies of Spiritism told to one of our employees something like that. According to him, Spiritism is good because it gives us explanations for important facts that do not find in other philosophies, religions or doctrines.

Indeed, the pursuit of truth is, beyond the common concern to all people, a legitimate aspiration, which it did not go unnoticed to Jesus, as recorded by the evangelist John: 

"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32) 

Once asked Mrs.GuiomarAlbanesi, founder of the Spirit Center Perseverance, São Paulo (SP), which would be, in her opinion, the greatest pain, the deepest pain, the pain felt by most human beings.

To the surprise of that who made her such question, Mrs. Guiomar answered it, based on her experience in dealing with so many people, there is no greater pain, a deeper pain, more pain felt. For those who are suffering, all pain is relevant and is deep.

What bothers the human creature would not be, then, the pain itself, but its causes. "Why do we suffer? Why vicissitude befell our home? Why do we face so many difficulties?"- This is what is important to know and what people seek to understand when face situations like this.

We knowthat many people knock or knocked on the door of a spirit institution exactly because of it.

Of course, the pain does not disappear with the explanations received, but of course when we knowledge about its causes, we strengthen ourselves and have even more trust in Providence and Divine Justice, which never fails.

That is why we understand the depth of the teaching given by Jesus and recorded by the apostle John.

The truth sets us free. Free from what? - Someone will ask.

It frees us from unbelief, improper mourning, discouragement, error, sin.

Some say that religion constitutes in fact a brake. That's good! Especially if it is a brake that prevents us from killing, stealing, lying, missing to our commitments, to appropriate the public money, as so many have done, although outwardly avail themselves of the label of Christians.

For these and others that no wonder a confrere as Nélio Vicente Costa, from the top of his 82 years old, do not falter in saying, as he said in his interview: "The biggest blessing I have received from the Creator was the fact that Ibecome spirit."
