Our today’s interviewed is
Antonio Carlos Braga dos
Santos, from São Paulo-SP,
organizer of the subject
“Suicide: A Silent Plague”,
talks about his proposal and
says how it appeared the
GAES – Aid Group to Spirits
in Suffering and his aims.

In a day like today – May 15th
– it begun in the year 1925
in Lisbon the I Portuguese
Spirit Congress, at the
Atheneum Commercial of
Lisbon on 15, 16, 17 and 18th
of May. People’s affluence
and communications presented
quality were high, which
reverberated over all in the
city press. Among the
present names highlighted
Adolfo Bernardino de Sena
Marques and Cunha (student
of Science College in
Lisbon), Amélia dos Santos
Costa Cardia (physician and
writer) and António Joaquim
Freire (physician and
writer).
About one year later, on May
26th, 1926, it
was constituted the
Portuguese Spirit
Federation, with António
Joaquim Freire being
responsible for the legal
process.
