What it is really necessary
to follow Master’s steps

"There will be in our humanity no greater example to be followed than the life of our Master Jesus. Study the Gospel is to delve into what is most profound about moral conduct. Following the steps that the Master traveled on Earth is to understand the Kingdom of God... And the Gospel of our Master Jesus is the most important reference so that we can follow our march with good spirit, with understanding of the proofs we have passed and, the most important thing, having love as the greatest achievement for our Spirit." (Renato Vernaschi Lima, our interviewee in this edition)

In the confirmation of the thought of Francis of Assisi, we must observe the life of Jesus, seeking the model and internalizing it. Jesus, in fact, was a teacher, and as master his disciples came after him imitating his example.

Another remark from Francis comes from the poverty of Jesus. Francis never condemned wealth; he only considered wealth an obstacle to spiritual attainment, because of the satisfaction of sensual appetites and interest, which places his own will in the first place. But without sensationalism, the poor of spirits are those who do not judge or perform in their interest; the poor of spirits have no attachment to any of their assets and turn their wealth to the benefit of the poor through assistance and the generation of decent jobs.

"In addition to being the most evolved Spirit that was on our Planet, Jesus was also the greatest educator we ever had. His words have at the same time the depth of those who knew all the mysteries of the universe, as well as the simplicity of who explained to those who had little understanding." (Renato Vernaschi Lima)

Unlike many talented and excited speakers and writers, Jesus wanted to be understood, hence his speech was simple and without any ornament. He was using parables that everyone could understand. When he said that he used the parables because the understanding of who heard him was scarce and they misunderstood the meaning of his word, he was referring to those who had pride rather than simplicity.

"Of course we have never achieved unanimity in the things we do in this life. Nor is this my pretension, because there are different perceptions, different cultures or, simply, for a very particular question of each one's own tastes." (Renato Vernaschi Lima)

To seek unanimity about our thinking is almost insane, if not just a manifestation of vanity. How could we want to achieve something that even Jesus could not achieve?

In fact, the Master's legion of enemies has never been so close. They come together to create strategies to fight Christianity from within, identifying the weaknesses of Christians and enticing the less vigilant to lead them to discouragement and desertion. But the defense against this is known: vigilance, prayer and charity.

"In this way, I believe we can take the important knowledge of our Doctrine, in the most diverse possible ways and for the most different publics. This is perhaps one of the greatest challenges for speakers and disseminators of Kardec’s Doctrine: to bring concepts, knowledge and ideas that truly reach hearts." (Renato Vernaschi Lima)

Affection, good sense, care and ardent desire to be simple, to be understood by the masses; this is the willingness to serve as an interpreter of the messengers of Jesus, but the humility to recognize that the core of the message that comes to us does not belong to us, but to those responsible for the dissertation. Ours are just unnecessary ornaments...
