Once upon a
time, a girl
called Jane got
used since young
age to go
through lots of
privations. She
is now eight
years old.
He never met her
father. Her
mother abandoned
her when she was
four years old.
One of her
neighbours felt
sorry for her,
and decided to
look after her.
This woman had a
lot of children.
Jane suddenly
realised she
couldn’t leave
there; she
wasn’t welcomed
at that house.
She decided to
leave that place
by the age of
five. She got
tired of being
bullied and hurt
physically. She
decided to go
and live in the
streets with
other children.
Jane decided to
stay with her
friends at an
abandoned home.
She learned to
beg in order to
survive. She ate
what people
would give her.
Even though she
was going
through such a
hard time, she
wasn’t angry.
Jane had a good
heart, and
everyone liked
her. She
believed in God.
She was 100% God
would never
abandon her.
 |
One day she was
begging at the
streets and then
saw a
well-dressed man
approach her.
– Can you please
give me some
money? – She
asked.
Manuel saw the
girl at the
street and gave
her a coin. On
the following
day, he saw the
girl at the same
spot. She smiled
and asked him
for money again.
He gave her
another coin,
but this was
against his
values. He then
heard the girl
thank him for it
again.
– God bless you.
I hope you will
always have
plenty food for
you and your
family.
He got really
impressed by her
comment and then
walked away. He
couldn’t forget
the girls face
throughout the
day.
|
On the
following
morning,
there
she was
at the
same
place.
She gave
him a
flower
this
time. |
|
|
– It’s for you
sir.
Manuel was taken
by surprise. He
felt the need to
stop and talk to
her.
– What is your
name? – He
asked.
– Jane.
– How old are
you, Jane?
|
 |
– I think I am
eight or nine
years old. I am
not sure.
|
– Do you go to
school? – He
asked.
– No, I don’t. I
was never able
to study,
although I want
to learn to
write and read.
– Where do you
live, Jane?
– I live with
other children.
– Don’t you have
family?
– My mom left me
when I was
younger. I have
got a Dad,
though.
– How is your
Dad called?
She then
answered, very
serious.
– God.
– God? Is that
your father’s
name?
– Yes. Isn’t God
everyone’s
Father? – She
said.
– Oh, yes! It’s
true.
– He always
provides me with
everything. I
have got all I
need. I have got
a place to stay
against the cold
and the rain; I
take a bath at
the park....
When I feel
hungry, I ask
for food and
someone always
gives me money
to buy something
to eat. I even
get food
sometimes. I
even manage to
share it with
the others.
Manuel felt
really touched
by the girl’s
comments and
asked:
– What would you
like to have,
Jane?
– Nothing. I
don’t need
anything.
– Please tell
me. I would like
to help – He
insisted.
The girl thought
for a moment and
said:
– I would love
to have a real
family.
Manuel felt
touched by the
girl’s wish and
started to cry.
He felt guilty.
He was rich and
had everything.
He had a big
house, a good
job and didn’t
have children.
He lived with
his wife only
and never wanted
to help anyone.
He then made a
decision. His
wife always
wanted children
and would
approve it.
He looked at the
girl standing in
front of him and
said:
– Everything
will be
different now,
Jane. God has
asked me to be
your father here
in Earth. You
will also have a
mother. Would
you accept it?
Jane couldn’t
believe this was
happening. She
jumped and
jumped really
high.
– Did God send
you? I knew he
would listen to
my prayers. I
always asked him
for a real
father here in
Earth.
- Oh! What about
my friends? I
can’t leave then
alone.
– You won’t
leave them,
Jane. You will
be able to help
them. We will be
able to find a
good house for
them to stay.
They will also
be able to study
in order to
become honest
and decent
adults.
– This is
amazing!
Jane then held
his hand and
looked into his
eye:
– Can I call you
dad?
