34. The end will come when nobody knows, only the Father - Following the sermon, Jesus warned that would arise false Christs and false prophets who would do miracles and wonders to deceive the elect if it were possible: "Be ye warned, beforehand you I have said all things. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun darkened and the moon shall not give her light, the stars will fall from the sky and the celestial powers will be shaken. Then we will see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. He send his angels and gather together his elect from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. " Said these things, Jesus made it clear that no one knew where those facts would be, nor angels, nor the Son, but only the Father (Mark 13:21 to 13:32.)

35. "The poor always ye," asserted Jesus - In two days would be Easter[1]  and the feast of unleavened bread, and the chief priests and scribes sought how they might arrest him, accusing him of fraud, then kill him. But one thing was certain: they would not do at the party, so there was uproar among the people. It was then, when he was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, there came a woman who brought an alabaster box containing ointment of spikenard, of great value. The woman, breaking the vase, poured it on Jesus' head. Seeing that, some were indignant, saying, "What was this waste of ointment?" And claimed that the product could be sold for more than three hundred pence and this amount be given to the poor. When they murmured against the woman, Jesus warned them, saying, "Let her alone, for the disease? She gave me good work. Because you always have the poor with you, and you can do them good, whenever you wish, but me ye have not always me. This did what he could, anticipated to anoint my body to the grave. Verily I say unto you, in all parts of the world this gospel is preached, this also that she hath done shall be counted to his memory." Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, then went to the chief priests to betray him unto them. They heard him glad, and promised to give him money, while Judas was studying how to deliver it in time of need. (Mark 14:1 to 14:11.)

36. The Lord's Supper and the blood of the New Testament  - After pointing the disciple who would betray him, he asserted: "For the Son of Man will go, as it is written, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Would be good for that man not had been born." The supper proceeded. Then Jesus took bread and blessed it, broke it and gave it to them, saying, "Take, eat, this is my body." Then he took the cup and gave thanks, gave it to them, and they all drank of it. Jesus then said: "This is my blood, the blood of the New Testament which is shed for many. Verily I say no more drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God." (Mark, 14:21 to 14:25.)

37. Jesus predicts that Peter will deny him three times - After eating supper and sing the Easter hymn, Jesus and his disciples went to the Mount of Olives. Said to them, then the Master: "All of you tonight you offended at me for it is written I will smite the shepherd and the sheep will scatter. But after I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee." Peter, advancing to the others, said: "Although all shall be offended, but I do." Jesus replied: "Verily I say unto thee today, tonight, before the cock crows twice, you will deny me three times." Peter spoke to him firmly: "If I should die with thee, will not deny you." And just as everyone said. (Mark, 14:26 to 14:31.)

38. Accused of blasphemy, Jesus is considered worthy of death - Appointed by Judas and arrested, Jesus was taken to the high priest, being distantly followed by Peter, who came to enter the courtyard of the house and sit with the servants of the temple's chief priest and warmed himself by the fire. Once confirmed to be Jesus Christ, Son of the Blessed, the high priest tore his clothes, dismissed other witnesses and accused him. "You have heard the blasphemy - said the ultimate authority of the Sanhedrin - what think ye?" And they all condemned him as deserving death, some starting to spit on him, covering his face and give her fists and slaps. In this, one of the maids of the high priest saw Peter and said, "You also were with Jesus of Nazareth," but he denied it, leaving the porch, at that moment the cock crowed for the first time that night. The maid soon returned and then appointed him again as a follower of the Messiah, but he denied it again, while others then told him: "Truly you are one of them, because you are also Galilean, and thy speech is as". Peter, angry, began cursing and swearing, saying: "I know this man of whom you speak," and the cock crowed a second time. Peter remembered what Jesus had just predicted, and retiring, and wept. (Mark 14:53 and 14:54, 14:63 to 14:72.)

Answers to Questions

1. At that time Jesus showed him who would betray him?

That was when Jesus and the twelve apostles were sitting to eat the passover. At one moment, he said unto them, Verily I say that one of you, that eateth with me shall betray me. They began to be sorrowful and tell him one after another: Am I? And another said: Am I? But he answered and said: It is one of the twelve, that puts me in the dish. (Mark, 14:12 to 14:20.)

2. Jesus also sing?

Yes, when meeting with his apostles. (Mark, 14:22 to 14:26.)

3. When Jesus prayed in a place called Gethsemane, Peter and the others slept. What words the Lord spoke to Peter?

When he saw them sleeping, Jesus said to Peter, Simon, sleeping? You can not watch one hour? Watch and pray so that not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak. That said, he left again and prayed. Returning, he found them asleep again, because their eyes were heavy and did not know what to answer him. Later, returning for the third time, the Master said unto them, Sleep on now, and rest. Simply, it is time. Behold the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. (Mark, 14:32 to 14:41.)

4. A curious thing happened during the arrest of Jesus. That fact was that?

When arrested, Jesus said to those who arrested him: Are ye come out with swords and clubs to seize me, like a robber? Every day I was with you teaching in the temple, and ye took me not but this is what the Scriptures be fulfilled. Then, leaving him, all fled. A certain young man followed him, wrapped in a sheet over his naked body. And they laid her hand, but he left the linen cloth, fled naked. (Mark, 14:43 to 14:52.)

5. In the Sanhedrin, when the high priest asked him if he was the Christ, Son of God, what was Jesus' answer?

Jesus said to him: I am, and you shall see the Son of Man seated at the right of God's power, and coming on the clouds of heaven. (Mark, 14:55 to 14:62.)

[1] Easter (Hebrew: Pesah = passage) recalled the liberation of the Hebrew people in Egypt.
