The bible gives us plenty
evidence about the
mediumnistic phenomena
We occasionally hear
statements like this:
“Nobody has ever come back
to tell if life goes on”. It
is understandable if such
affirmative comes from a non
Christian person, but
irrelevant if it comes from
people who accept and
believe in the New
Testament. Moreover, the New
Testament describes in
detail the passage when
Jesus returned to his
disciples after his death at
Golgotha. It also describes
the visit Moses and Elijah,
who came to comfort him,
paid to Jesus moments before
his arrest. This is the
theme of this week’s
editorial entitled The
dead have brought and still
bring news from Beyond.
One of the highlights of
this week is the interview
conceded by the confreres
Marilda Pereira Bellini and
Adriana Mara Freitas Ritti,
from Juiz de Fora (MG), to
our colleague Orson Peter
Carrara. During the
interview they speak about
the spiritist movement in
their hometown as well as
about the origin of the
Spiritist Centre Ivon Costa
and its operation.
Another highlight of this
issue is the special from
Paulo Neto about the
spiritist phenomena. In this
article, which has been
split into two parts, the
confrere reminds us that
mediumship is not restricted
to psychographics and that
the Bible gives us evidence
of the mediumnistic
phenomena, if we study it
carefully. The conclusion of
the article will be
published next week.
Between September 4th and
7th, it was held in the
Hotel Vila Gale Mares,
Guarajuba beach (BA), A
Fraternal Meeting with
Divaldo Franco, as shown
in the report written by
Paulo Salerno, which is also
one of the highlights of
this edition.

Last Friday, September 17th,
it was celebrated another
anniversary of foundation of
the “Grupo Familiar de
Espiritismo”, which is
considered the first
spiritist association that
emerged in the country. It
was founded in 1865. The
journalist Louis Olimpio
Teles de Menezes used to
lead the group (Bahia, 1828
- Rio de Janeiro, March 16,
1893).
