Always grumpy
and sour,
Vincent had
great difficulty
relating to
people.
 |
On the street,
it was normal
for Vincent to
have
disagreements
and create
problems with
others over
little things.
If someone
bumped into him,
unintentionally,
he would get
angry, thinking
that the person
had wanted to
provoke him, and
he would start a
fight.
|
At school, his
classmates were
afraid of him.
If his group did
a study and the
note was not
good, he would
fight
with
them,
accusing
them of
wanting
to harm
him,
without
realizing
that the
note had
been the
same for
all in
the
group. |
If the teacher
gave him a bad
mark on a test,
he would argue
with her,
accusing her of
being partial
and not liking
him.
At home, Vincent
was a serious
problem for all
members of the
family, and his
younger brothers
were afraid to
contradict him.
Because of this
behaviour, his
parents were
quite worried,
praying to Jesus
so they could be
helped.
One day a big
storm had fallen
on the region,
and Vincent was
particularly
unbearable, when
his mother
approached him
full of patience
and kindness.
Surrounding him
with love, she
said:
- My son, why do
you act this
way?
The boy, angry,
was justified:
- Because it
seems that
everyone wants
to provoke me,
mum. Nobody
likes me! ...
His mother
stroked his hair
and said gently:
- Or is it you
that do not like
anyone, my son?
The boy stared
at his mother in
surprise.
With affection,
she continued:
- Yes, Vincent!
You always see
the bad in
everything, only
sees the
negative side of
things and
always think the
worst in people.
You do not
excuse anything
in anyone, even
an involuntary
act. Nobody is
perfect and we
all need
forgiveness. But
you think you
are perfect,
always thinking
that others are
the ones that
are wrong. Get a
grip! ...
Vincent remained
silent, and the
mother noticed
that he was
reflecting on
her words.
The storm had
passed and the
sun was shinning
again. Then the
mother said:
- Vincent, come
and see how
beautiful it is
today. Even
before the
storm, that
people regard as
an evil, nature
strives through
its elements to
offer the best
in the victory
of good. Look,
my son, how
after the rain,
the air is
cleansed of
impurities and
the plants are
grateful for the
moisture; the
sun dries the
mud, birds sing
to replace the
noise of thunder
and the trees,
often wounded
and with broken
branches, do not
complain; they
regenerate
themselves to
bring new
flowers and
fruits; and
crops receive
the running
waters from the
rain without
resentment,
transforming it
into useful
compost.
The mother
stopped speaking
briefly, giving
the child the
opportunity to
reflect, then
continued:
- If Nature does
so, why would we
retain
bitterness
inside our
heart? Even
faced with
difficult
situations and
we must learn to
educate
ourselves,
always acting
for good, using
our energies to
enrich life.
Love, my son, is
a treasure of
blessings
everywhere,
provided we use
it to generate
good. A
fountain,
humble, getting
the mud, never
gives in,
working the
impurities in
its intimacy and
continuing to
run, until it
turns them into
blessings for
the benefit of
all.
The boy thought
long and hard...
then said:
- Mum, I want to
change. I want
to be happy and
make the people
around me happy
. But
I cannot! Before
I know, I'm
fighting,
yelling and
arguing with
people.
- You will get
there, my son.
All you need is
willingness and
determination.
Try to see the
world through
the eyes of
love. Forget the
bad and look
only for the
good in people.
And do not
forget to pray
for the
protection of
Jesus.

Vincent hugged
his mother and
from that day
onwards, he was
faithful to the
changes he
wanted to
establish in
himself. |
He faced many
difficulties,
but with each
new challenge
overcome, he
acknowledged
himself to be
stronger and
more determined
to continue
improving. Thus,
he became much
more cheerful
and friendly to
all people, who
would look at
him with
admiration and
respect for the
changes that
managed to
achieve.
