To popularise
Spiritism. This
is the great
challenge! |

"Know the truth
and the truth
shall set you
free." - Jesus.
“What sort of
world is this?”
Nowadays, not
infrequently, we
hear such a
question
concerning the
atrocities
suffered by our
society.
Atrocities which
have usually
been reported by
the media, but
also not
reported in such
a way, but of
which we learn
in our
day-to-day.
Facts that make
us unhappy and
are generated by
small and large
emotional and/or
psychological
disturbances,
devastating the
population.
Among them, we
highlight the
choleric state,
because it is a
factor
responsible for
numerous
misfortunes
affected between
families and the
social
environment.
With wrath in
action we have
deaths that take
place in full
traffic jams, in
places of
leisure, and
especially in
bars and cafes.
We have deaths
in school
settings, in
workplaces, in
familiar
surroundings,
and on a large
scale, in public
streets and
alleys
throughout the
city.
Anger can be
shown in an
explicit manner
or not. Its
manifestation,
almost always,
is connected
with
circumstances
involving
personal
interests. It
can manifest
itself at any
time or
occasion,
staying
temporarily
embedded in the
core of the
being, being
"fed" by
thoughts of
anger, contempt,
envy, sorrow,
anger and the
like -
resentments that
can, at any
time, awaken the
"beast" trapped
by the varnish
of personal or
social
convenience.
So many crimes,
so many
intrigues, many
misfortunes
spring from
small frictions,
small dislikes,
small annoyances
that once
cultivated, lead
humans to behave
and act like a
crazed beasts.
We will have to
work hard in the
disseminating of
Spiritism
All this could
be avoided if
the divine code
contained in
The Gospel
According to
Spiritism
was decoded and
widely
propagated,
disseminated
among the
masses.
if it is
popularised,
thus becoming an
integral and
active part in
the conduct of
the being, and
reflecting
itself in
earthly society,
the violence
recorded in our
day would
certainly give
way to a more
responsible and
more human
behaviour. But
it still isn’t
so! We,
spiritists, have
to work hard in
the pursuit of
disseminating
Spiritism and on
living its
teachings..
Today, perhaps
more than ever,
we need to
promote and
expand these
teachings
regular people
who somehow are
part our
relationships -
or not.
Never before has
Jesus been
spoken of as at
present times,
but also never
has one been so
distant from Him
and His
teachings as
now.
Materialism,
generating
exaggerated
consumerism, is
the villain.
Materialism
invades
churches,
encouraging
"offerings" by
way of "give so
that you
receive" where
some get benefit
from using
spiritual and
material misery
of others.
Materialism
invades the
homes through
consumerism,
spurred on
largely by the
media. It
invades the
lives of
ordinary people
who are deceived
by the
appearances of
"those who have
the most are the
best and most
accepted" and so
no matter if
"to have" is
done by fair
means or not.
For these and
other reasons,
people who are
unaware and
distracted by
materialistic
illusions
provide
extremely
favourable
mental and
physical
environments so
that spirits who
are misleading,
avengers,
usurpers, and
therefore
suffering
spirits, "lie
down and wallow"
in the "mess" of
distorted
feelings of the
good, of the
beautiful, of
moral values
that are
embodied in
the living
experience of
the being in
evolution.
We are
influenced and
even led by
Spirits
"What to do?" If
we assume the
principle that
all evil comes
from feelings
contrary to
good, the answer
is simple: "To
worship
favourable
feelings to the
good under any
circumstances
that are
presented to
us." From then
on, once
equipped with
the knowledge
gained from the
spiritist
codification, we
shall work
incessantly in
the practice of
these teachings
and its
dissemination.
However, this
work requires
effort from the
collective and
from oneself,
being up to the
spiritist
movement and to
spiritists, to
develop methods
so that these
philosophical
teachings are
expanded to the
popular mass,
aiming at the
improvement of
the spiritual
being. This will
result in the so
much desired
PEACE.
Therefore, we
must seek to
APPEASE the
existing turmoil
in the hearts.
Unrest generated
by less happy
thoughts that
swarm human
minds and that,
in turn, end up
inviting other
minds that are
equally or even
more disturbed
to socialize and
share
existences. We
must also take
into account
that this
sharing occurs
from homes to
workplaces and
public roads.
Chapter 20 of
The Mediums'
Book describes
in details how
much we are
influenced by
spirits and even
conducted by
them, in the
routine of our
days. It
clarifies that
this influence
can be positive
or negative,
depending on the
content of our
thoughts and
vibrations
emitted by them,
attracting or
repelling those
who are like us.
Such influences
occur in all
places where we
transit,
especially those
places that
enable us to
exercise the
good and
wholesome family
or social
conviviality.
But it is not
enough to have
knowledge and
maintain "a lamp
beneath a
bushel." The
great light is
needed to be
expanded to
enlighten minds
and hearts.
You need to
attract the
masses to the
study of
Spiritism
It would be
interesting for
the Spiritist
movement to take
action focusing
on arousing the
interest of the
population,
aiming to
attract the
masses to the
study of its
philosophy. An
example would be
to promote books
and audio book
fairs, fairs
that could be
organized in
public squares
where visitors
would be invited
and encouraged
to meet with the
organizers and
participants at
the event for
the purpose of
uniting and
making
vibrations
directed at
peace. The
earthly
atmosphere and
the Spirit
workers of
Christ’s harvest
ask for
movements like
these with
greater
intensity, and
it is up to the
Spiritist
movement to
promote them
with "faith,
hope and
charity."
To confirm this,
let's see what
Erastus tells us
in the message
"Mission of the
Spiritists", in
chapter 20, item
No 2, of The
Gospel According
to Spiritism,
transcribed
below:
“... go forth
to preach the
new doctrine of
reincarnation
and the
elevation of
Spirits
according to
whether they
have fulfilled
their missions
and supported
their
terrestrial
trials well or
badly. Oh, true
adepts of
Spiritism . . .
you are God's
chosen ones! Go
forth and preach
the Divine Word.
The time has
come when you
should sacrifice
your habits,
your work, and
your futile
occupations to
its
dissemination.
Go forth and
preach! The
elevated Spirits
are with you.
You will most
certainly speak
to those who do
not wish to hear
the Voice of
God, because
this Voice calls
them unceasingly
to abnegation.
You will preach
disinterestedness
to those who are
avaricious,
abstinence to
the dissolute,
gentleness to
domestic tyrants
and despots!
Lost words, I
know, but it
does not matter!
It is necessary
that you
irrigate the
land to be sown
with the sweat
of your labour,
seeing that it
will not come to
fruit nor
produce except
under the
repeated blows
of the
evangelical hoe
and plough.
Go forth and
preach!
To all of you,
men and women of
good faith who
are conscious of
your inferiority
before the many
worlds scattered
in infinite
space! . . .
Launch
yourselves into
the crusade
against
injustice and
iniquity. Go
forth and
ostracize the
worship of the
golden calf,
which spreads
more and more
each day. Go
forth; God
guides you!
Simple and
ignorant
humanity, your
tongues will be
freed and you
will speak as no
orator speaks.
"Go forth and
preach," this is
the advice given
to us by Erastus
Go forth then
and preach,
for those of the
population who
are heedful will
happily take in
your words of
consolation,
fraternity, hope
and peace.
(...) the
Shepherd will
know how to
defend His sheep
from the
sacrificial
butchers. Go
forth those who,
great before God
and more blessed
than Saint
Thomas, believe
without
demanding to see
and accept the
fact of
mediumship even
when they have
not managed to
obtain it for
themselves. Go
then, for the
Spirit of God is
guiding you.
March forward,
magnificent
phalanx of
faith! Before
you the great
battalions of
unbelievers will
dissipate, as
does the morning
dew at the first
rays of the sun.
Jesus said that
faith is the
virtue which
moves mountains.
However, heavier
that the
greatest
mountain are the
impurities and
all the vices
which are
derived from
them, which lie
deposited in the
hearts of men.
So then, depart
full of courage
to remove this
mountain of
iniquities which
future
generations
should only know
as legend, in
the same way
that you know
only very
imperfectly of
the times which
preceded pagan
civilization.
Moral and
philosophical
upheavals will
be produced at
all points of
the globe; the
hour approaches
when the Divine
Light will
spread itself
over both
worlds.
Go forth,
therefore,
taking the
divine word to
the great; who
will disdain it;
to the wise; who
will want to
prove it; and
to the simple
and small; who
will accept it;
because,
especially among
the martyrs of
the work in this
earthly
atonement, and
you will find
enthusiasm and
faith.
Go forth!
So that these
ones will
joyfully receive
divine
consolation
offered by you,
thanking and
praising God,
and, lowering
their forehead,
will yield
thanks for
afflictions that
Earth has
reserved them.
Arm yourself
with decision
and courage as
your phalanx!
Get to work! The
plough is ready,
the land
prepared:
plough! Go forth
and thank God
for the glorious
task He has
given you. But
beware, that
among those
called to
Spiritism, many
will stray from
the path! Take
heed, therefore,
on your way, and
seek the truth!
"
This is just one
of the messages
found in the
edifying works
of Kardec, who
asks, encourages
and expects from
us spiritists,
the largest
commitment in
favour of
enlightenment of
human minds.
Enlightenment
arising from the
Greater
Spirituality, by
which spiritual
enhancement of
the human
creature will be
attained.
