The year 2012
has gone by too
fast! Now, we
will start a new
year.
How about we try
to accomplish in
2013 all we need
to have a better
and more
enjoyable life?
Time is an
invaluable
friend that God
gave human
beings to aid
their progress.
Thus, it is
necessary to
utilize the time
we receive in a
useful and
constructive
way.
When the spirit
is reborn on
earth, it comes
with a schedule
of life to
perform.
Therefore, it
needs to make
good use of time
to accomplish
its goal.
And what is the
goal of the
Spirit? Do you
know?
The Spiritist
Teachings
teaches that the
goal of the
Spirit is to
increasingly
improve,
learning and
evolving to
achieve
perfection.

And how is it
done?
Making the most
of the time it
has to acquire
knowledge and to
replace
imperfections
and negative
tendencies (such
as pride,
selfishness,
malice,
impatience,
envy, jealousy)
for moral
qualities (such
as humility,
selflessness,
kindness,
patience,
tolerance,
detachment) .
Thus, it is
necessary to
care for the
BODY and
|
SPIRIT
on equal
terms. |
To take care of
the SPIRIT, we
use a portion of
the day to
attend school in
order to acquire
knowledge and
information
about the world
we live in as
well as the
universe.
Attending
Children and
Youth
Evangelization,
to enrich
ourselves with
Christian
morality and the
knowledge the
Spiritist
Teachings gives
us, in order to
renew us
interiorly,
making us better
every day.
Doing good is
important as a
means to develop
love for our
neighbour,
helping us to
get rid of
selfishness.
To care for the
MATERIAL BODY,
which is an
instrument of
progress for the
Spirit so that
it is healthy
and balanced, it
is necessary to
set time aside
for:
FOOD - Eat
properly
ingesting foods
that contain
important
nutrients for
the organic
balance. Do not
eat "only"
sandwiches and
chips, ice cream
and chocolates.
HYGIENE - Take a
shower every
day, brush your
teeth regularly
and always wear
clean clothes.
This does not
mean that you
cannot play, run
at will and get
dirty. Just take
a refreshing
shower
afterwards.
PHYSICAL
EXERCISE -
Practising a
sport of your
choice, such as
swimming,
cycling, soccer,
volleyball,
basketball.
RECREATION -
Entertainment is
also important
for the welfare
of the human
being. Having
moments to go
for a walk, go
fishing, go to
the "mall", the
movies, watch
television, read
a book or
magazine, play
video games etc.
As long as, for
this, we choose
the right
moment. It's not
healthy to be in

front of
the
television
or
computer
all the
time. |
SLEEP - Of
course, we also
need the hours
devoted to sleep
for the rest of
the body,
because we are
not robots! The
Spirit, however,
keeps active
because it never
rests.

And to acquire
the balance of
body and spirit,
we cannot forget
to pray by
reserving a few
minutes of the
day, especially
at bedtime and
upon rising, to
thank Jesus for
everything we
have received,
but also to ask
for help and
protection in
the day's
activities, so
that we can
enjoy our
existence and
progress
always!
And now that we
are entering a
new year, let's
take the
opportunity to
do what is good
for the body and
the Spirit?
