Paulo Maia da

“Organising a
Spiritist
congress brings
about a healthy
dynamic
atmosphere”
Our fellow
Spiritist from
the Brazilian
capital,
Brasília, talks
about the Third
Spiritist
Congress of the
Federal
District, which
will be held
between April 17th
and 19th

How do you feel
being directly
involved in the
organisation of
another
Spiritist
Congress in
Brasília?
I feel like a
worker of our
Master Jesus. I
understand that
the commitment
and
responsibility
come ahead of
the joy and
satisfaction of
realising that I
am contributing
towards the
growth of the
Spiritist
Movement in
Brazil’s Federal
District. The
commitment calls
for good will,
hard work,
understanding
and love in
order to find
common solutions
to the problems
we will face,
creating a
synergy between
the people
involved and the
tasks that we
have to carry
out. It is not
an easy job, as
it involves
hundreds of
people. We are
all tested in
many instances
and we do need
to put into
practice what we
have learned in
so many years of
Spiritism. This
is the time to
put into
practice what we
have learned.
But I am
positive and I
have faith in
the help we are
getting from the
Spiritual
Benefactors to
make sure that
everything will
be fine.
What will be the
main event of
the Congress?
The main theme
will be “Gospel:
Fraternity and
Peace.” The
Congress will be
held from April
17th
to 19th.
Those who want
to take part
should visit our
website,
www.fedf.org.br.
The main idea
behind the
Congress is to
unite the
Spiritist Family
in all the
metropolitan
area of the
Brazilian
capital. We will
have special
events for
adults, children
and young
people. We will
also organise a
very
comprehensive
bookshop.
How many people
do you expect to
take part?
We expect some
3,000 people to
take part,
including non-Spiritists
who may be
curious about
the Teachings.
We chose the
main the theme
of the Congress
and the main
speakers,
including the
great medium and
benefactor, Raul
Teixeira, about
18 months before
the date for the
event.
Is there any
special aspect
of the
organisation of
the Congress you
would like to
share with us?
By organising
Spiritist events
outside
Spiritist
Centres we have
taken the
Teachings to
people who are
not Spiritists
and may be
embarrassed or
intimidated to
look for
information. The
Congresses serve
this purpose.
They show to the
rest of society
a side of
Spiritism many
do not know:
well organised,
serious, with
good, honest
people who try
to convey an
enlightening and
comforting
message. Also,
organising a
Spiritist
congress brings
about a healthy
dynamic
atmosphere,
strengthening
links and the
feeling that we
all belong to
the great
Spiritist
family.
What are your
final words to
our listeners?
We are going
through a key
phase for
humankind, in
which individual
and collective
disturbances,
added to
physical changes
on the planet,
will cause much
pain and
suffering. More
than ever, we
must live
according to our
beliefs and
contribute to
keep the general
vibration of the
planet positive.
The earth is
entering a new
phase, of
regeneration. We
must watch out
and pray so that
we do not fall
in the traps set
up by the darker
Spirits. To help
us prevent such
upheavals, we
all pray
together at
22:30 (local
time in
Brasília) every
day. We invite
all readers to
join us in our
prayers.
